Biography

Geert Van Hootegem - Senior Full Professor Sociology of Work and Organisation, KU Leuven

Geert Van Hootegem is full professor at KU Leuven and teaches work and organizational sociology and change management, among other subjects.  Geert Van Hootegem is former general director of HIVA - Institute for Work and Society At the Postgraduate Center, he teaches Innovative Work Organization and Organization Design. He was also affiliated with Radboud University Nijmegen.

Geert founded Flanders Synergy in 2006 and was a director of Workitects. He is also a founding member of Prepared Mind.

Besides articles in scientific journals, he publishes his research results to a wide audience, from widely accessible books such as to articles in professional and general journals. Through interviews in the written and audiovisual press, he seeks to provide interpretation and take a stand.

He is a much sought-after speaker at home and abroad. With his enthusiasm, he knows how to charm any audience with his pleas for organizing differently and working better.

However, Geert is not only a scientist. As a consultant, he has helped an impressive number of organizations from all possible sectors to raise their performance level, solve problems and increase workability.  His network and organizational architectures are always built on a participatory foundation.
