Yoojin Ban

Yoojin Ban is program manager of the industry-affiliation R&D program on Optical I/O at IMEC since 2021. By advancing silicon photonics technology, imec’s Optical I/O R&D program seeks to substantially scale optical interconnects to bandwidth densities beyond 1Tbps/mm, while consuming less power than 1pJ/bit, thereby enabling next-generation AI, HPC and Cloud datacenter systems. Prior to program manager, she spent 6 years as responsible for the Si Photonics device development and Si Photonics based optical transceiver demonstration at IMEC. She received M.E degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Yonsei University, South Korea in 2015, for her work on silicon photonics high-speed device modelling.
