Biography

Leili Shiramin earned her Ph.D. from the Photonics Research Group at Ghent University–imec in Belgium in 2017, where her research focused on the design, fabrication, and characterization of advanced Silicon Photonics and Silicon Nitride Photonics devices. After several years in industry, holding both technical and managerial roles in the Photonics and RF domains, she joined imec in early 2022. She first served as a Program Manager, leading major customer programs, and now Leili is Integrated Photonics Portfolio Manager within the strategy team of imec silicon solutions, as part of ICLINK.

From proof-of-concept to advanced production-ready photonic technology platforms

This presentation will shed light on imec’s photonics technologies—both today and in the future. We will present recent results from ongoing developments and roadmap elements, highlighting key technology features on the path toward scalable solutions. Building on imec’s strong foundation in semiconductor innovation, we will show how the continued evolution of our photonic platforms is enabling progress across critical application domains, including optical interconnects, sensing, and quantum computing.
