Taking silicon spin qubits from lab to fab

4:30 PM - 4:50 PM

Abstract

Quantum computing promises to tackle problems beyond the reach of classical computers. But delivering on that promise requires solving one fundamental challenge: scale. Fault-tolerant quantum computers will require vast numbers of high-quality qubits that can be manufactured reliably and reproducibly.

Silicon spin qubits offer a promising path because they can leverage decades of semiconductor innovation and advanced CMOS manufacturing. Imec is bringing quantum technology from lab experiments to its 300 mm pilot line, applying advanced patterning, process control and integration capabilities to improve qubit performance, reproducibility and scalability.

In this talk, we will share imec’s progress on this lab-to-fab journey, including high-performing silicon spin qubits, increasingly complex qubit arrays, and the use of High NA EUV lithography for quantum devices.
