Building a resilient future AI infrastructure: sustainable innovations powered by imec.netzero

4:50 PM - 5:05 PM

Abstract

Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming one of the defining technologies of our era, driving unprecedented demand for computing power, data movement, and digital infrastructure. As AI adoption accelerates across industries, ensuring that this growth remains economically viable, environmentally sustainable, and resilient to future constraints has become a critical challenge. This talk explores how sustainable technology innovation can strengthen the long-term resilience of AI infrastructure. Drawing on insights from imec.netzero, we will examine the environmental implications of AI across the full semiconductor and system value chain, from materials, manufacturing, and device technologies to data center operational use. The session will highlight how data-driven sustainability methodologies, life cycle assessment (LCA), and digital ecosystem collaboration can provide actionable insights for reducing environmental impact while supporting continued technology scaling.
