Sassine Ghazi

Sassine Ghazi is President and Chief Executive Officer of Synopsys and serves on the company’s board of directors.

Since becoming CEO in 2024, he has advanced Synopsys’ transformation from a leader in electronic design automation (EDA) to an engineering solutions powerhouse spanning silicon to systems. At the center of this strategy is the $35 billion acquisition of Ansys in 2025—bringing together leaders in silicon design, IP, and multiphysics simulation and analysis to accelerate innovation and redefine how the world’s most complex products are designed and built.

Ghazi has held leadership roles across engineering, product development, sales, and operations during his more than 25 years at Synopsys. Prior to becoming CEO, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer, where he steered Synopsys through a period of record revenue growth and profitability while strengthening operational performance.

Earlier in his career, Ghazi led Synopsys’ EDA business, expanding the company’s market reach and advancing its technology leadership, including spearheading early investments in AI-driven design platforms that are now core to modern chip design.

Ghazi has nearly three decades of experience in the semiconductor industry and began his career as a design engineer at Intel.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Lebanese American University, a B.S.E.E. from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and an M.S.E.E. from the University of Tennessee. Ghazi serves on the board of the U.S.-China Business Council.
