For decades, shrinking transistor size was enough to drive exponential improvements in computing power, as described by Moore’s Law. But that era is ending. Sustaining progress now demands bold innovation, such as new manufacturing processes and the introduction of new materials, combined with silicon.
Recently established imec Spain will play a vanguard role in this next chapter of semiconductor innovation, with its 300mm pilot line for specialized chip technology complementing imec’s advanced CMOS process line.
This high-potential facility and the new perspectives for semiconductor innovation it offers will be a central theme of Imec Technology Forum Spain.
