Biography

Guillermo Gómez. Technical Director at SETT and Industrial Engineer. Industrial Engineer with 15 years of experience in the public and private sector. Guillermo started his career in the Oil&Gas and Energy sector, working in different roles in R&D centers, passing through IT and business development sectors and ending in a long period in EPC Oil&Gas and Energy companies. In 2018, he joined the Spanish Government state administration as part of the Corps of State Industrial Engineers, within the Secretary of State for Telecommunications, managing EU and international relations in the digital domain, including digital policy, cybersecurity, and the negotiations of EU Chips Act. Since January 2022 he was involved in the definition of the Spanish Semiconductors Plan (PERTE Chip), including the planning, budgeting, and implementation. Since 2022 he joined the State-owned company for Microelectronics and Semiconductors, now transformed into SETT.

The role of SETT in the Spanish semiconductor ecosystem

SETT is a young administrative body, but is called to play a key role in the development of the semiconductor and microelectronics ecosystem, understood as the combination of RTOs, start ups, established companies and other international actors. In this speech from SETT, we will explain our capabilities and actions that are being executed to achieve the objective of reinforcing the Spanish semiconductor sector.
