José María García Orois

José María García Orois has a Telecommunications Engineer (MSc) from the Higher Technical School of Industrial and Telecommunications Engineers of Bilbao (University of the Basque Country) and a Master's Degree in Business Administration and Management (MBA) from EAE Business School. He also holds a postgraduate diploma (Internet Leadership Academy) from the University of Oxford.

He was appointed in January 2025 as Executive Director of Business Development of the SETT. Previously, he worked for a year as an advisor in the technology and telecommunications area at the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Function and previously worked as a Telecommunications engineer for ADIF. As a consultant for the public administration, he has also advised different ministries such as Industry, Science or Public Administrations at the state level, and has also developed his professional work in the administration at a regional level, reaching the position of Director of Information Technology and Telecommunications in the Basque Government. He has also worked as a consulting manager in private companies for thirteen years.
