Biography

Pawel E. Malinowski was born in Lodz, Poland, in 1982. He received the M.Sc.Eng. degree in electronics and telecommunications (thesis on design of radiation-tolerant integrated circuits) from the Lodz University of Technology, Poland, in 2006. In 2011, he received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the KU Leuven, Belgium (thesis on III-nitride-based imagers for space applications). Pawel has been working at imec since 2006. In several R&D roles, he worked on different disruptive optoelectronic technologies, including photodetectors (x-ray, EUV, UV, NIR, SWIR), image sensors (CMOS- and TFT-based) and displays (OLED). In his current role as Portfolio Manager Industry, he is working closely with imec’s technology and business teams to shape the roadmap and offering, drive innovation investments and support collaborations. Pawel has coauthored more than 80 publications and submitted 10 patent applications. Member of the program committee of SEMI MEMS & Imaging Sensors Summit. Member of ODI Committee of IEEE-IEDM in 2018-2019. Recipient of the International Display Workshops Best Paper Award in 2014 and the SID Display Week Distinguished Paper Award in 2018.
