Chip technology

The core of innovation – curated by Luc Van den hove

Day 1 - May 20

On May 20, Tuesday morning, we will dive into the various aspects of how chip technology will enable the next generation of AI with Scott DeBoer of Micron and Sassine Ghazi of Synopsys. In the afternoon, the first female CEO in the semiconductor industry, Christine King (Skyworks Solutions), will give a fascinating talk. Be sure not to miss Apple's opening keynote by Johny Srouji who will take you into the future of Apple's processor chips for the next generation of iPhones, iPads and more.

Thematic demo tour

Chip technology lies at the centre of all groundbreaking applications. However, AI has highlighted existing challenges around scaling, memory, power and sustainability. This tour guides you through the NanoIC pilot line, the answer to accelerating hardware innovations – and aligning them with AI needs, via 3D integration and optical IO. Finally, the tour provides an overview of our services within imec IC-link, which helps innovative companies bring application-specific, high-performance chips to market (from design and manufacturing to assembly, testing, and qualification).

Day 2 - May 21

On May 21, Wednesday morning, we will dive further into the world of AI and chip technology with speakers from penchip and GlobalFoundries, and we will take a closer look at sustainability in our industry with an exciting panel discussion.

Also, don’t miss our NanoIC workshop on Tuesday afternoon where you will discover how we will strengthen the European industry with the NanoIC pilot line.
