Abstract
We stand at the threshold of an Al-driven world, where intelligence seamlessly enhances every facet of our work, society, and personal lives. But to unlock this future, Al must become not just more powerful-but more sustainable, efficient, and universally accessible.
This new era will not be enabled by solely increasing computational power. The challenge lies in moving data-faster, more intelligently, and with minimal energy. Al processor interconnectivity and memory access are the central constraints of modern Al systems.
Silicon photonics offers a breakthrough path forward. There is no method to move information faster or more efficiently than to do so with light. Photons have no mass and are therefore unburdened by the losses associated with electronic data transmission over copper. Optical interconnect delivers unparallelled bandwidth, energy efficiency and reach.
Realizing the transformation from copper to optical interconnects requires more than just technology - it demands an ecosystem-level reimagination, where innovation spans from integrated photonic devices to full-stack system solutions. It also requires a new mode of collaboration with the pioneers of tomorrow's Al infrastructure.
This keynote explores how unlocking the Al frontier hinges on building a robust ecosystem at the nexus of disruptive technology, multi-disciplinary teams and hyperscale capital commitment. Operating within an equally innovative and highly collaborative engagement model to drive Al infrastructure advancements at a new pace, set by Al model innovation.
Together, we are architecting the next generation of data center infrastructure that is not only performant, but also sustainable and accessible on a global scale.
