Abstract

Predictions by Deloitte state that the semiconductor industry will need one million additional skilled workers by 2030. This challenge can only be met through a concerted effort by many actors within and outside the ecosystem, targeted at all types and levels of education. Within NanoIC, workforce development is one of the important pillars and it is important to note that also here imec cannot do this alone and therefore partnerships need to be created. In this presentation, the different workforce development activities under NanoIC and the associated partnerships will be highlighted. In particular, we will zoom in on the design pathfinding PDK trainings with Europractice and the close collaboration foreseen with the EU Chips Design Platform.
