Biography
Attilio Belmonte is Program Director of Active Memory at imec, Belgium, where he leads research and development projects on advanced memory technologies, including embedded DRAM, 3D DRAM, ferroelectric memories, and OTS switching devices. He joined imec in 2011 as a PhD student and earned his PhD in Physics from KU Leuven in 2015.
He then continued his career as a device engineer, investigating a broad range of emerging memory concepts. His work has mainly contributed to the development of BEOL‑compatible, capacitor‑less embedded DRAM with oxide semiconductors (2T0C), RRAM technologies, and alternative high‑K dielectrics for DRAM. He has authored or co‑authored more than 100 journal and conference publications.
