Biography
Oreste Madia is Programme Manager for NanoIC activities at Tyndall National Institute, where he leads R&D focused on the development, validation, and scale-up of next-generation materials and integration schemes for logic and memory technologies.
He previously served as Technical Manager for TSMC and as Senior Process Engineer for ASM International, working on process development, device integration, and equipment technologies for sub-2nm technology nodes and advanced memory. He is co-inventor on 20+ patent families in semiconductor materials and device integration.
He also worked at the European Commission Directorate General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG CNECT), contributing to semiconductor policy initiatives related to supply chains, manufacturing capabilities, and critical materials. His work supported the implementation of the EU Chips Act and included participation in international engagements on semiconductor strategy and capacity.
